Janet has worked with hundreds of dogs of various breeds and temperaments helping both dogs and owners live together happily and harmoniously. As a student of animal behavior, she works to advance her knowledge and skills by attending and hosting workshops and conferences. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Approved Evaluator. She is also an externship mentor for the Animal Behavior College. In 2006, as a member of the American Boarding Kennel Association’s Dog Daycare Standards Committee, Janet helped establish operating standards for the dog daycare industry.

Prior to going to the dogs, Janet completed her doctoral course work in Renewable Natural Resources with a minor in Environmental Psychology at the University of Arizona. Janet attended Georgia Institute of Technology and received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Indiana University. She spent several years as a product manager and consultant in private industry and as an independent contractor for the Department of Interior.

Vizslas, a breed known for its energy and affectionate nature, are Janet’s breed of choice. Her Vizslas, Rumer and Turk, and a Chihuahua named Lulu share her home. Janet is a member of the Vizsla Club of America and the Rio Salado Vizsla Club. She has been involved in Vizsla Rescue for many years and helped found the Vizsla Rescue Fund. Janet participates in performance events and conformation with her dogs. Janet teaches group classes at Sit! Stay! Play!, offers in-home coaching and training, and specializes in behavior consultations.
